FAQ

1. Why are regular dental check-ups important?

Regular checkups are essential, not only for oral hygiene but also to check if there are any problems. 6 months is a long time and anything can happen in between!

2. Why is flossing essential in my oral hygiene routine?

Most decay occurs in between the teeth, which is the main area that flossing cleans. Regular flossing can assist in preventing and reducing the tooth decay.

3. How often should I change my toothbrush?

On average, it is recommended to change toothbrush’s every 4 months, however this can vary depending on how vigorously you brush.

4. What can I do to keep my teeth healthy, in between dental check-ups?

Daily brushing and flossing is essential! Ideally 2 times per day.

5. Should I be using mouthwash?

Using mouthwash may assist in maintaining your oral hygiene, but it is not as crucial as brushing or flossing. Mouthwash should be used in conjunction with brushing and flossing.

6. What food and/or drinks should I limit, in order to keep my teeth healthy?

Try to keep sweet and sticky foods at a minimum if possible, but sometimes we have to enjoy life’s simple pleasures! After sweet food it is ideal to rinse or drink water to flush the sugars out.
